This piece is largely improvised, flowing doodling with an ink pen tool in Clip Studio Paint. The real-time symmetry ruler tool replicates your drawing strokes and seeing the flowing lines compliment each other is the main draw I have to working with symmetry. Sometimes my random drawing experiements evolve a theme which slowly influences the rest of the art. I get the most satisfaction when my inspiration comes from developing a theme by surprise. In the future when I have the means, I'll over artwork like this as prints to purchase and on customizeable products!
